STIR UP THE GIFT OF GOD.

"Wherefore I put thee in  remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. for God hath not given us the Spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind; be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou
partaker of the affiliations of the gospel according to the power of God: who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling to  his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by  the appearing of our saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death,
and hath brought life and immorality to light through the gospel: whereunto I am appointed a preacher and an apostle, and a teacher of the gentiles. For the which cause I also suffer these things: Nevertheless am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus" Verses 6-13. I emphasize on verse 6 "Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands" Paul, writing to young Timothy, saying, Timothy, you have been saved. Timothy, you have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you, God has called you into His service, I place my hands upon you as a token of God's call. Now Timothy stir yourself up and do what God asks of you, Here is a picture
of a fundamentalist by the name of Paul writting to a young fundamentalist preacher by the name of Timothy. Both believed the word of God, believed in God or  Christ, and were saved and called of God. Paul was seeking to stir up this young man. In first &second Timothy he kept on exhorting him, “Endure
hardship as a good soldier … Study to shew thyself approved" What was he doing? The very thing we have to do. If we don't stir up people, move people, we have failed, if you can preach on Sunday morning, Sunday night and all the rest of days and no one is stirred to go out and do what God says then you
haven't done much. Paul was doing this at all time. He wrote to the Christian in the church at Rome, at Corinth, at Philippi, at Ephesus, in the same manner- to stir and move and shake them. People don't want to be shaken;they would rather sit still. They want to come to church every time and listen to you for an hour, get up and walk out the door, go home and eat dinner, and forget about what God asked we must stir people either they like it or not. Moses had that in his mind when he said, “beware, lest thou forget the Lord" Deuteronomy 6:12. He was stirring them up and we must do the same. Today fundamentalists need to be stirred. There are things that ought to stir us. We ought to be scared by sin. This is a Wicked day, Immoral day, Loose day,
Dirty day, Radio, Television, Magazine, Books, most of thing is turning people away from God. The sin of this day is deception. It is a day of shadows and that should trouble us all. Some people just don't seem to get bothered. They go on their way, well, the child of God should be stirred to a holy compassion, a condemnation of Sin an acknowledgement of what he believes in his own heart. The indifference of this day should stir us. Paul said, “For all seek their own not the things which are Jesus Christ" Philippians 2:21. We are not concerned, we see selfishness on every hand. People don't want to be stirred They have gotten in a rut. A rut is a grave with both ends knocked out. Do we pray "O GOD, stir my heart, O God, Move me? O God let me be what you want me to be" O Father, stir us onto Repentance, Here is the word of God " Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing, 2corinthians 7:9. We put
 emphasis on worldly things, but we are not putting emphasis on the things of God, on the salvation of souls and on winning people to the Lord. Instead, we have thought of money {power to get wealth} possessions and buildings.e.t.c.Christians need to be stirred to repentance. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
 unrightteousness"1john 1:9. Confess the Coldness of our hearts, our critical Spirits, our lazy, lukewarm attitudes. Confess the sins of commission and the sins of omission, There is another prayer "O Father, stir us to return to the basics. Do you know that seventy-five percent {75%} of the people in our Churches today have never read through the Bible? They have read most of it,
most especially Psalm. But not all of it. Stir us to Revival "O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years" Habakkuk 3:2. I have seen revival in Churches, I mean, sweeping revivals. Souls were saved, hearts were touched, and altars were filled. I have seen the hand of God at work. O God, stir us to repent of things, things that are wrong: things that are doubtful: things that mean nothing in our Lives: Get rid of that which is going to hinder and ask the Lord to make your heart right. Let us return to the basic things of the word of God, Prayer, Soul winning and revival. Let us pray, O GOD send a revival, let it begin in me. Finally brethren, keep your heart stirred up, keep your emotions stirred, Hate sin, Love Christ, Love souls, Love the word of God, Preach the Gospel and Seek the Salvation of Others, God of Peace will be with you all {AMEN}.

"But do not be after their works: for they say, but do not" Mathew 23:3.  This people abound in the church today, in the street, in the market, in every part of the world. This is hypocrisy and this is the reason why all teachings we receive do not reflect in the lives of believers. They call themselves Jews but in reality they are the synagogues of Satan, in doctrine they can teach well, but they fail to put it into practice. The time has come the spirit of Ezra in our churches "For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord and to do it and to teach in Israel statues and judgements" {Ezra 7:10}. Examine this truth As a Leader and follower, Disciple or Nominal Christian and change your life. Let us be examples to the unbelievers let our lives agree with andbe in line with our preaching. The Bible says " in all things show yourself as an example of good works, in doctrine show forth uncorrupts". Apostle Paul heard about false teachers, he now instruct Titus about faith, Conduct and warnings about false teachers he should " teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. Likewise, teach the older women not to be slanderers or addicted too much wine but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject  to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. Similarly, encouragement the young men to be self-controlled, in everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that can not be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us"Titus 2:1-8. Today nominal Christian are numerous in the World, "Jesus said to the crowd and to his disciples: The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses seat, so you must obey them and do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulder, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them" Mathew 23:1-4; Today people like the big position in the society. Their faith is to seek for position "Everything they do is done for men to see… They love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the
synagugues, They love to be greeted in the market places and to have men call them 'Rabbi' or Teacher ". With all these things God desires humility "And do not call any one on earth father for you have one father and is in heaven.nor are you to be called teacher, for you have one teacher, the Christ. The greatest among you will be your servant, for whoever exalts himself will be humble, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted" Verses 5-12. Due to this Jesus rebuked the life of hypocrisy "Woe to you teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrisy, you shut the kingdom of heaven in Men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those who are trying to enter. Let me assure you that this sects of people they were obstacles for those who are ready to receive the gospel of Christ, They even know how to set good doctrine and they will not follow it, Jesus curse them "woe to you, blind guides, you say, if anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath, you blind fools which is greater, the gold or the temple that makes the gold sacred." Verses 13-24. Are you in the group of self-righteousness people? "Woe to you teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites you clean the
outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence, blind Pharisees! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean, woe to you teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like white washed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean, in the same way on the outside you appear o people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness". Verses25-33. Sound doctrine good, but doctrine that not in accord with God's word can kill. Also the spirit of God always gives life abundant. Therefore surrender yourself to the spirit of God that enlightens us on how to be doers of the word of God. Do not be silent because of fear inability to do. Say it and do it, the God of peace will be with you. Finally whatever is True, whatever is Noble, whatever is Right, whatever is ever Pure, whatever is Lovely, whatever is Admirable, if anything is Excellent or Praise worthy - think about such
things. Whatever you have learned, received or heard from me or seen in me put it into practice and the God of peace will be with you.{AMEN}Philippians 4:8-9.

THE DANGER OF PROCRASTINATION.

                  
         "And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons-in-law, which married his daughter and said, up, get you out of this place: For the lord will destroy this city, but he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons-in-law. And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot saying, arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here lest thou be consumed in the iniquity
of the city. And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of the two daughters; the lord being merciful unto him; and they brought him forth, and set him without the city." (Genesis 19:14-16)."And while he lingered..."Verse 16.
     He had received a message from God that judgement was coming and those cities were going to be destroyed. Lot not only received the message, but Lot believed the message. He believed it so strongly that he even shared the message with others. He said to his sons-in-law, "Get you out of this place: for the lord will destroy this city" But the sad thing was, after Lot heard and
believed the message of the coming judgement, ".... He lingered". If we could call people out of hell this time around and ask them one at a time, "Sir, why are you in hell? Didn't you know how to be saved?". I'm sure that some might say, "I didn't know how to be saved?". But I believe that literally thousands would say, "Yes I knew how to be saved". Didn't you have a
desired to go to heaven? Oh yes. As a matter of fact, I even have plans of going to heaven. I thought that someday I would trust Christ as my savior. "Well, what are you doing in hell?". I kept putting it off and one day I died suddenly in an automobile accident, and here I am. I don't think you would find one person in hell who deliberately planned to go there, but each waited
 too late and died without the saviour. A fable illustrates what I'm saying, it is said that many centuries ago, the devil called all the demons of hell together and asked for suggestion on how to damn the soul of men. One demon gave a suggestion; another gave his own, then a brilliant demon came forward and said  "I'll tell you what to do. Let's tell man there is a Bible and that the Bible is the God's word. Let's tell man that there is a real hell and a real heaven that people who die without saviour go to hell; and that those who believe in Christ, when they die, heaven is sure. Let's tell man that God loves them and provides a way whereby they can be saved. Let's tell man they ought to be saved, but let's tell them they don't need to be saved now. Let's tell them to wait a while" (from Curtis Hutson). It is said that
all the demons of hell, and even Satan himself, applauded the brilliant demon and said,  "that's what we will do! Man will fall for that! That's the best way to damn the souls of men!" Let me assure you that nobody plans to go to the hell. Someone had said "the road to bye and bye leadsto the house of Never"
(R. A. Torrey) and he said " A wise man when he sees a thing that ought to be done, does it immediately. A fool, when he sees a thing that ought to be done, says, yes, it ought to be done, but I won't do it now, or yes, it ought to be done but I'll wait and do it later. And while lingered..."There not only is the danger of the hardened heart, but there is the danger of loosing your soul.
 Man is a living soul, and Jesus said "For what shall it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and lose his soul?" (Mark 8:36). I wish I could preach that as if Jesus were standing here preaching it "what shall it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and lose his own soul?" If you gain the whole world - become a billionaire, own real estate, cattle and automobiles
(automatic cars, companies) and everything under heaven - and lose your soul, you have made an idiotic bargain. A man had a great fortune, he put it all into one large diamond. Everywhere he went, he took that diamond with him. One day he was on board a ship travelling from one country to the other. Walking up and down the deck, he kept tossing that diamond into the air. A fellow-passenger said to him "man, don't do that, the ship may bob, hit a wave, and you will lose it". He said,  "I haven't missed
it yet" and kept tossing the diamond into the air. Closer to the edge he tossed it. The sun shining on the diamond blinded him momentarily. As he reached out this time to grab it, he missed the fortune- fell into the sea. As it fell, the man exclaimed "lost!, lost!, lost!" You say, that man was a fool, I agree, but he
wasn't as a big a fool as men who gamble with their salvation, gamble with their souls and say no to Jesus day after day, week after week, year after year and then they die without Christ!. Not only is there the danger of loss of the soul. There is the Danger of going to hell, you may not like to hear about this, but there is a real literal, burning hell and when a man dies without Christ, he goes there. The rich man also died and was buried: and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments (Luke 16:22-23). It is a place of torments, a place of unending punishment, a place of hopelessness, a place you will say bye and bye to your parents, there is no way out. We must stay out. Suppose I said to you, there is a Time Bomb planted in this building, it may go off in two minutes or five minutes. But it may not go off for a year or for fifteen or twenty years. Still, it may go off at any minute, if I made that announcement, how many of you would stay to hear the end of my sermon? Not one! And I wouldn't stay to preach it. The coming of Christ is a danger to the unsaved because it seals the destiny and doom of those who heard the
gospel but did not heed the gospel, that is not all, there is a Danger of Sudden Death, nobody knows when he is going to die, you may say "I don't like to hear or talk about death". Well, when people quit dying, I will quit talking about death, you don't want to hear about death because you are not right with God. I beseech you brethren that you should forsake your sins and come to the saving knowledge of Christ. "Behold, now is the accepted time, behold now is the day of salvation" 2Corinthians 6:2

ARE YOU DOUBTING OF JESUS CHRIST?.

 Everyone is either saved or lost, this means that God or Satan is our master.  What causes the separation between God and Man is a three lettered word {SIN}"Whosoever committeth sin transgressth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law" 1John3: 4. "He that committeth sin is of the devil: for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the son of God was
 manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil”. We are born in sin and we too must destroy the works of the devil. I have not had personal contact with you, but you will have to be your own judge, by the word of God. Jesus said that we shall know you by the fruit you bear. Just like you will know the difference between  an orange and mango tree by their fruit, so,
also we are known whether we are bearing good or bad fruit in this world. Every one will know that it is wrong to steal; even the idol worshippers know this. If someone wants to steal he or she will do it with full material that such work requires it will be in the night or in the day time. But if he or she was caught by
law enforcement agent \  by  O.P.C.or any  other  agent he will be condemned, why? This is against the law of our Nation and if he\ she is guilty of the case the judge can sentence him \ her into prison. The Bible tells us of many things we should do in life that if we sin against God and if we continue in them we will go
with the devil to hell, unless we repent. What are some of these sins? Now put yourself to the test and read the following  1Corinthians 6:9-10. "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived, neither fornicators, nor adulterers nor efferminate,  nor thieves... shall inherit the kingdom of God". "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred,.. ...revelling and such like of which I tell you before as I have told you in the past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God"Galatians5:19- 21. If you are doing one or some of these thing, My friend, you had better fall on your knee and repent of your sin.The only one that can save you is Jesus Christ. God so loved everyone so much that He gave His Son {JESUS}to die for our sin and for the sins of  the whole world. John 3:16-17. "But if we are in the light, as He is in the light,We have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus Christ Cleaseth us from all sins" 1John 1:7. "That if thou shall believe in thine heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shall be saved" Romans 10:9. When we have this big load of sin, there is no rest of mind, the Bible already tells us that if we have sin to our heart we are condemned to hell, Now you must have help to remove this load of sin. In Hebrew 1 :6 "Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God must believe that HE is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him" It is for you to confess all your sins to God really believing that He will cancel them through the blood of Jesus Christ and you will be set
free from the power of darkness. Also those who have wronged you, you must make restitution with them. If you are free from all sins this will be the results 2corinthians 5:17; "therefore if any  man {or  woman} be in Christ he is a new creature: old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new" "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye have love one to
another" John13:35. You are a born-again Christian when you have this experience. Then try to look for Church where the true gospel is preached. Please, pray this short prayer with me, Lord JESUS, I call you to my heart, I want you to dwell with me according to your word, which says if any man hear your Voice and Open the door of his heart you  will  enter and Open his
heart you will enter and sup with him and you will remain there forever, Revelation 3: 20. Now Jesus stay with me and I will continue to serve you, don't allow Satan to draw me back to all sins that I have forsaken in Jesus name, {AMEN}.

DO NOT PLAY WITH SIN

    Jesus came to rescue us from law or sickness, our Jesus came as a healer of great physician if you  don't forget you will realize that there was separation between man and God in the garden of Eden, where our fore- father was called and he answer that he heard the voice of God which made him to be afraid simply because he was naked, Gen. 3:1-10,you would know that it
 was sin that told him that he was naked, if you can study the case very well, he played with sin i.e. the sin of disobedience, now God continue and asked him "who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?" verses 11.let me assure you that anytime
 that you fall into sin, then you will start complaining, the man said "the woman you put here with me, she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it" The woman said "the serpent deceived me and I ate" verses12-13. Jesus says I'm come to save the lost and to find them. And he said that I don't come because of those who are strong, but because of those who are weak {in spirit and physically Luke5:31. This makes us to know that anybody who fails to worship God is sick spiritually and physically may be you have read it in the bible that Jesus healed one man that was lame, who suffered in agony for thirty-eight years {38yrs} Jesus saw this man and he started complaining but to his surprise Jesus had compassion on him, Jesus went to him, and He told this man not to continue sinning,so that greater things should not happen to him {John 5:14.} Jesus made him to understand that the agony that he was passing through was as a result of his sin .If we commit sin, our body will suffer for it, for example  if anybody fall into victim of HIV or AIDS, that person will suffer for it, God can not suffer for sin of Human Immuno-deficiency Virus or Acquire Immuno-deficiency Syndrome. Jesus is telling you not to play with sin, I know that the question that will come to your mind is, how can this be
possible? Can somebody live in this world without sin? But let me assureyou that by the grace of God it is possible .the bible makes us to know that for man, it is impossible but with God all things are possible, mark 9:27; Salvation of our souls comes from God not the out-come of the work we do or the out-come of our good deeds. It is Jesus, who died for our sins, for us to have salvation, not pope or anybody. We were called one by one, I mean God saved us one by one, somebody who drinks water will know
that he drinks water, who is not saved will know that is not saved. Jesus himself told every one of us to forsake sin, the sinner needs to accept himself, as a sinner, after this he would repent of his sins, then he would invite Christ to come into his heart, after this he will surrender himself to Christ who will redeem him for the perfect cleansing of his sins, he/she should abide in the word of God which says we should not continue in sin. Jesus has come and taken awayall the sins of separation between God and us. Now Jesus is the only mediator between us and God. but you should remember Satan, our enemy of progress would like you to sin. Everybody has conscience either to do Good or Bad without respect to colour or language e.g. Nigerian or American, Yoruba, Hausa or Igbo; black or white.
If our conscience is on God's side we can know or think about God, Vise-versa " my son I wrote this book to you that you should not continue in sin…."{1John2:1} This is the reason why Jesus saved the souls of mankind, the plan of God for mankind is that we should come to repentance. Acts 3:19.if you think deeply, you can see that the more we commit a certain sin, the harder to stop it, therefore, you should be ready to confess your sins, aftermath of sin brings separation between us and God. No wander the bible says the one who lives in me [Jesus] is greater than he who lives in the world [1John 4:4]. The bible continues “whosoever thinketh that he stands should be very careful…"
1corinthians 10:12-13. In spite of this, we should allow the bible to be our ultimate friend. I.e. you should try to have a copy of the Holy Bible and allow the spirit of God to give youthe meaning. Let me assure you, it is left for you to choose between Death or Life; Jesus or Satan; Hell or Heaven; God or gods.
Jesus is calling you for repentance, 2 peter3: 9; Do you forget that JESUS has purchased you from the bondage and willing to set you free.{John8:31-32}
 "Blessed are those who keep the
 law of God and they will have privilege to enter to the city of God" Revelation22:14.Finally my brethren accept Christ as your Lord and Personal Saviour. It shall be well with you. {Ephesians 6:10}.
